Finalists Announced for Gov’t Contracting Awards

Thirty-three Washington-area government contracting industry firms and executives have been chosen by their peers as finalists for the 6th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards—an awards program some have dubbed the “Academy Awards of government contracting.” The awards recognize the innovation, dedication, and commitment to excellence of the people and businesses in the region’s government contracting community. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on October 7th at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, VA.

Awards will be presented to contractors at four revenue levels; executives at three revenue levels; and to public sector partners whose achievements are exceptionally distinguished. In addition, Norman R. Augustine, former chairman of Lockheed Martin Company’s executive committee, will be inducted into the Greater Washington Government Contractor Hall of Fame in recognition of his professional excellence, consistent track record of growth and success, and his history of extraordinary personal contributions to his community, company and industry.

“Every year, the nominees and finalists for this prestigious award offer a stark reminder of the great and important work that is being done,” said Fairfax County Chamber Chairman of the Board Kevin Reynolds. “It is an honor for us to salute them.”

“In addition to being critical cogs in our regional economy, these companies and individuals are terrific examples of what public-private partnership is all about,” said Professional Services Council President & CEO Stan Soloway. “That partnership is something of which we should all be proud.”
