Focusing on six words: Helping government do its job better

DorobekInsider: The celebration of the Summer of Gov (2.0)

Last night, DC’s government 2.0 community got together in NW DC for the “Summer of Gov” happy hour whose purpose is to celebrate two milestones in the history of Government 2.0.

Milestone One:

Apps for Democracy “Community Edition” — the second round of the DC’s remarkable and much watched Apps for Democracy contest — wrapped up on July 1st. The big announcements are expected next week. We have spoken to Peter Corbett of iStrategyLabs several times on Federal News Radio 1500 AM, most recently about the first round of winners for Apps for Democracy. We hope to have him back when the final winners are announced. You can hear our most recent interview here:

Milestone Two:

Steve Ressler’s GovLoop is celebrating its 1 year anniversary — with more than 14,000 members who are using the site to collaborate. Federal News Radio 1500 AM recent spoke to Ressler about GovLoop — and his lessons learned after one year. Hear that conversation here:

Just a few photos from the festivities:

Congratulations to Corbett and Ressler for bringing everybody together.
