USDA CIO/CFO Charles A. Christopherson

Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller got something of a coup — the first comments from USDA CIO/CFO Charles Christopherson about his plans for how those two operations are going to operate. Miller interviewed Chistopherson as part of Federal News Radio’s Ask the CIO program.

On Federal News Radio’s Daily Debrief on Wednesday, Miller offered a preview of the full interview.

I have been relatively critical of Christopherson because he just didn’t seem to let people — either inside USDA or with industry — know what his plans were for dealing with the string of departures of key people across USDA’s CIO and CFO organizations. Earlier this year, he spoke to a crowded IAC session and didn’t address it at all and I suggested that he missed an opportunity. Well, he took advantage of the opportunity with Miller.

Essentially he is going to have two deputies: one for operations, and one for everything else. Hear Christopherson for yourself.

You can hear the full interview on Federal News Radio’s Ask the CIO program.
